I am back in Germany but last week Hashemo's Haus had its first "Fun Fundraisers" in Tulsa Oklahoma and Little Rock, Arkansas.
Kann Man (can man in German) means; "Am I allowed to" or Do I permit myself?"
It's often used in connection with some manner of self-indulgence. When we first came up with the idea of infusing fundraising activities with music (Reggae in particular) we asked ourselves "kann man"; are we allowed to have and spread fun while raising funds? We found an answer; CanManCan!
We decided to work exclusively with Canmancan Entertainment for our fundraising parties, events, and concerts inside and outside of the USA. If last week was an indicator of what is to come, Fundraising for Hashemo's Haus with Canmancan Entertainment is going to be very fun indeed and we are just getting started!
The crowd was a little smaller than we had anticipated for the first event in Tulsa OKLA due to severe weather. But those who decided to come out and literally "brave the storm" were rewarded with one of the "funnest" concerts that I have been to in years! Kapital Stone (Kapital with a K) delighted and excited the brave. The Real Mckoy also delighted the crowd with unreleased music and a few fan favorites. DJ Mucho kept the crowd engaged on the one and two. The main act of the evening, ANTHONY B, mesmerized the crowd with his energetic performance with the help of THE BORN FIRE BAND. One would have thought that he was performing for a sold-out arena. None of the guests who decided to stay despite the weather in Tulsa left disappointed. We all had a good time at the Shrine.
In Little Rock AR at the Maumelle Event Center on the following evening, the weather was better and the crowd was bigger. Moderator DJ Mucho set the vibes for the evening with his mix of tunes that were perfect for a "Sunday Reggae" jam. Kapital Stone (with a K) wowed the crowd again as did The Real Mckoy and ANTHONY B took the crowd to church!
Our little puppet friend Lucky Mushroom was there as well making new friends. I am sure that he will have fun telling all the young English learners about his trip to the USA and how he met THE BORN FIRE BAND and some stars of Reggae. The Sunday Reggae Vibes concert for Hashemo's Haus was real fundraising fun for everyone involved!
Here are a few images of the fun:
We are looking forward to The Ultimate Thirsty Thursday Fundraiser this September with none other than the Legendary Steel Pulse!
